Industrial Automation Terms of Service
These terms govern all PLC, HMI, and industrial automation services provided by OneSource Tech, LLC. By hiring OneSource Tech, LLC or submitting payment, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
These Service-Specific Terms are an extension of the OneSource Tech General Terms of Service.
By booking or requesting this service, the client agrees to both the General Terms of Service
and the additional terms outlined below that apply specifically to this service category.
Please review our General Terms of Service in addition to the service-specific terms listed below.
1. Scope of Services
Automation services include PLC programming, HMI configuration, system diagnostics, basic wiring modifications related to control systems, and commissioning support for small industrial equipment. Services are limited to the scope agreed upon in writing prior to work.
2. No Safety Certification
OneSource Tech, LLC does not provide certified safety system design or validation unless explicitly stated in writing. While safety-related logic and interlocks may be programmed, the client is responsible for ensuring all machinery complies with applicable safety standards, OSHA regulations, and local electrical codes.
Client is responsible for obtaining any required third-party safety validation or inspections.
3. Client-Provided Hardware & Components
All PLCs, HMIs, I/O modules, drives, power supplies, networking equipment, and related components must be purchased by the client unless otherwise agreed in writing. OneSource Tech, LLC does not act as a hardware reseller and is not responsible for procurement delays, compatibility issues caused by incorrect purchasing, or vendor supply chain shortages.
4. Hardware Availability for Development and Testing
For system design, programming, and testing, required PLC, HMI, and I/O hardware must be physically available prior to or during development when applicable. While some development and simulation may be possible without hardware, full commissioning and verification require access to the actual equipment. Delays in providing hardware may result in project schedule changes or additional fees.
5. Client Responsibility
- Ensure machinery is in safe operating condition prior to service
- Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures during service
- Provide accurate documentation when available
- Approve system operation before returning equipment to production
6. Liability
Liability related to industrial automation services is governed by the OneSource Tech, LLC General Terms of Service.
7. Backup and Program Ownership
Clients are responsible for maintaining backups of existing PLC and HMI programs prior to service when possible. Any new or modified programs created become the property of the client upon full payment. OneSource Tech, LLC may retain copies solely for service and support purposes.
Existing programs may be overwritten or modified as part of troubleshooting or commissioning.
8. Warranty of Work
Programming and configuration work is warranted for 30 days against functional defects directly related to the services provided. This does not cover hardware failures, electrical issues outside the control system, or changes made by others after service completion.
9. Deposits and Scheduling
Deposits and scheduling are governed by the OneSource Tech, LLC General Terms of Service and any written project agreement. Automation projects typically require a deposit prior to scheduling and development due to engineering time commitments.
If a project is delayed or canceled by the client after work has begun, deposits are non-refundable and completed work may be billed according to the General Terms.
10. Changes and Additional Work
Work outside the original scope may require additional fees and scheduling. Emergency or expedited service may be billed at higher hourly rates.
11. Billing
Billing and payment timing are governed by the OneSource Tech, LLC General Terms of Service and any written project agreement.
12. Operational Decisions
Final responsibility for placing equipment into production and determining operational readiness rests with the client. OneSource Tech, LLC does not control how or when equipment is placed into service and is not responsible for damages resulting from production decisions made by the client.
13. Electrical and Mechanical Systems
OneSource Tech, LLC is not responsible for mechanical failures, wiring defects outside of control circuits, improper machine assembly, or electrical issues beyond the scope of agreed control system work.
14. Unauthorized Modifications
